Position Responsibilities: The Community Outreach Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Community Outreach Program. The Community Outreach Program Manager plans, manages, and participates in community outreach activities to ensure connection to underrepresented populations, including older veterans and older adults in communities of color, and serves as an important liaison to other community-based organizations supporting low-income older adults.

Essential Functions: (Core duties or tasks that are fundamental and not marginal to the performance of the job)

  • Develop and manage community outreach activities to strengthen partnerships with community-based organizations representing underserved older adults and build awareness of AgeSpan programs and services.
  • Seek out new opportunities for partnership and collaboration to better meet the needs of underrepresented older adults.
  • Represent the agency at community events and programs.
  • Hire and manage the performance of agency Community Outreach Workers.
  • Co-host agency community access program, All Things Aging. Develop and execute program content.
  • Serve as principal organizer of the Merrimack Valley Veterans Collaborative.
  • Track all outreach activities and report this information to the Community Programs Administrative Coordinator.
  • Manage program operating budget.
  • Assist in seeking out new funding opportunities to support agency outreach initiatives.
  • Provide support to various agency community outreach programs as needed, including Brown Bag Program, Elder Community Markets, health fairs, vaccine clinics, etc.
  • Complete additional tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in social services or a related subject and/or at least five years' experience with diverse, disadvantaged older adults.
  • LSW license or license eligible strongly preferred.
  • Understanding, sensitivity and respect for different cultures, traditions, and customs, as well as the day to day challenges facing low-income older adults.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as on a team focused on producing high quality results. Familiarity with the communities of the Merrimack Valley and North Shore a plus.
  • Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Hours per week : 37.5
