Agate Steel is Hiring a Staff Accountant - Scottsdale, AZ Near Scottsdale, AZ
Our Staff Accountant position is in need of an individual with 3 - 5 years experience to support the growing Agate Inc. organization. The Staff Accountant is vitally important to producing accurate, periodic and timely financial data to leadership. There is a tremendous opportunity to grow in both skill and career in the organization. This position will work onsite in our office located in Scottsdale.
Salary range is anticipated to be $60,000 - $75,000 DOE
Reporting to our CPA credentialed Controller.
Beyond recording typical financial transactions related to day to day business operations, we look to our Staff Accountant to
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and drive monthly close processes
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist in preparing financial statements, forecasts with projections and results
- Train to be primary backup for the following roles: Payroll, Accounts Payables, and Accounts Receivables
- Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy; escalate concerns to leadership
- Review monthly project projections with construction project managers
- Analyze project projection monthly trends
- Recommend ways to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
Our ideal team member will
- Have earned a Bachelor's in Accounting, a Master’s degree in Accounting would be a plus
- Be detail and accuracy driven as well as organized individual
- Be professional in internal and external communications
- Be focused on meeting established reporting deadlines
- Have a comprehensive understanding of GAAP
