The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for overseeing various assigned areas of general accounting such as purchasing accruals, profitability analysis, vendor management, financial reporting needs, and other special projects as assigned.

Salary will be determined based on experience. Estimate annual range $82,000 - $87,000 (base bonus).

Location: West Houston

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares general ledger entries for month-end closing to close books in a timely manner.
• Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Analyze account reconciliations and financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the Assistant Controller’s attention.
• Works closely with accounting team, warehouse operations personnel and procurement team to ensure the proper and accurate flow of purchasing information from operations to accounting and accurate recordkeeping.
• Provides assistance, instruction, guidance and mentoring to other staff members, including junior and general accountants, and junior financial analyst.
• Research and analyze various items, including technical accounting solutions, as they arise.
• Compile financial reporting needed to meet monthly, quarterly and annual requests for internal users throughout CES organization.
• Assists with the management of vendor set ups and maintenance throughout all systems.
• Assists with the preparation of the monthly reporting package to CES.
• Ensures compliance with established corporate financial controls and procedures and ensures CSOX documentation and testing.
• Works with auditors on various audits, as requested.
• Provides assistance to the US Controller and Assistant Controller with other projects, as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor is Degree in Accounting.
• Five (5) years of high-level accounting experience, prior work experience within the oil and gas and/or manufacturing industry, or public accounting would be highly advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills’ involving spreadsheets, formulas and analysis is essential.
• Previous experience with ERP software is beneficial.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and accounting software-related applications.
