We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with welding experience for our location in Carlstadt, NJ. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will lead manufacturing activities for assigned programs to ensure quality and timely manufacture of tanks. Responsibilities include manufacturing process development, tool design, work instruction creation, supplier support, personnel training, process ownership, and management of hardware flow through production.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

25% - Design tooling and equipment, prepare requisitions and manage activity to ensure all tooling is available to support production schedules.

20% - Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting of manufacturing operations associated with all aspects of manufacturing of pressure vessels.

15% - Identify requirements for manufacturing of assigned programs.

10% - Review and approval of engineering drawings and specifications.

10% - Develop methods and standards for manufacturing of tanks ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.

5% - Attend daily production meeting communicating status of planning, tooling and issues associated with assigned projects.

5% - Perform root cause analysis and implement robust corrective action.

5% - Collaborate with Engineering on new product development.

5% - Identify and lead continuous improvement projects utilizing lean methodology and tools including Kaizen, 3P, and VSM.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Weld, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and at least eight (8) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The preferred candidate would have significant experience in GTAW welding on Inconel or stainless and/or Electron Beam Welding of Aluminum or Titanium. Ability to work in SolidWorks is required. Additional experience in machining, welding, heat treating, pressure testing, chemical processing or precision cleaning is preferred.

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to lead and persuade others, and deploy new processes by effectively communicating ideas and concepts.
• Prior experience managing teams in an aerospace manufacturing environment desired.
• The ideal candidate will have experience with welding and/or machining.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a manufacturing environment, as well as standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. Work requires the ability to change into or out of personal protective equipment when entering or exiting manufacturing, laboratory, or other areas. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
