The Opportunity. This is a great opportunity for a “roll up your sleeves” Controller to apply their skills and experience to move our accounting team to the next level and work with the leadership team to establish robust budget planning, reporting, and controls that drive business results.

The Job. The Controller is responsible for budget planning, month-end close, fiscal financial audit, financial analysis, and related reporting. Oversight and performance of all accounting, payroll and tax functions.

· Creation of annual budgets and analysis of variances against plan at regular intervals.

· Timely issuance of a full set of monthly financial statements, and board presentation materials.

· Oversee payables, receivables, payroll and period end close processes and creation/maintenance of related policies.

· Cash management, including planning and forecasting.

· Creation/maintenance of controls designed to mitigate financial/legal/compliance risks.

· Preparation for and completion of financial audits by independent accounting firm.

· Coordination with bank(s) in day-to-day matters and timely submission of any required reporting.

· Timely compliance filings with state/local governments.

· Lead meetings involving executives, members of the management team and outside organizations as required or necessary.

· Support for reporting/analysis requests and initiatives led by other departments.

• Expert level competency in MS Excel. Functional competency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Capable of building a productive and engaged team.

Requirements

• B.S degree in Accounting, Business Accounting, or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5 years experience as a controller, or senior level accounting position in distribution or manufacturing industry with revenue greater than $100M.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP system preferred.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
