Financial BI Analyst (FP&A)

Summary:
As a Financial BI Analyst I on the finance team, you will be responsible for supporting analytics, reporting, and financial modeling to finance and business leaders in support of crucial enterprise initiatives for Advisor Group. The BI Analyst I role is part of Advisor Group's Business Intelligence, and Analytics group within the Corporate Finance function focused on supporting enterprise initiatives broadly encompassing enterprise metric reporting, business analytics, data capture, data normalization, dashboard and scorecard reporting, and improving the firm's business intelligence into financial results. You will have the opportunity to help develop a new dashboard and analytic reporting for finance, work on a wide range of highly visible projects, and partner and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders, analysts, and business leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Test, maintain, and support the development of PowerBI dashboards for executive leaders and analysts
• Support testing and release of new reports while retiring existing legacy reporting processes
• Participate in the development of new reports via SQL reporting views, and data delivery
• Support complex analyses, presenting findings and recommendations to managers concerning data, reports, business, and financial impacts
• Support standardizing reporting and controls in alignment with new firm data governance initiatives
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with leaders and peers across the enterprise to foster an effective cross-functional working environment and collaborative spirit
• Support special data/ analytic projects and ad-hoc requests for business leaders, finance, and IT

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, business information systems, data analytics, or a related field required
• Graduate degree a plus

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a finance, business analytics, or hybrid Finance-IT role
• Prior financial services industry experience preferred (wealth management, investment management, broker-dealer, insurance, banking, specialty finance)
• 2 years developing and writing SQL queries,
• Experience with data visualization BI reporting tools (PowerBI/ DAX syntax experience a plus)
• Desire to learn advanced technical skills- Excel modeling, BI tools, SQL
• Passion for solving complex problems
• Proficient in the use of Excel and PowerPoint
• Detail-oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working within an entrepreneurial, "roll-up your sleeves" environment
