Advanced Technology and Research Corporation is Hiring an Electronics Technician Near Bethesda, MD

Advanced Technology & Research Corporation (www.atrcorp.com) is seeking to fill the following full-time permanent position. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site to support various R&D and engineering tasks related to Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared Electro Optics (IREO) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division. Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Operate, maintain and upkeep the RF/IREO laboratories
  • Ensure all lab/testing equipment and instrumentation are properly calibrated
  • Set up test articles, components and data acquisition system
  • Collect and process the data as required
  • Provide various laboratory support.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tech/vocational school or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of job experience preferred
  • Job experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to learn basic RF and IREO technology
  • Strong hands on capabilities for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to manage industrial laboratory and machine shops
  • Ability to operate light machineries and tools
  • Ability to support shipboard testing and installation
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Some travel will be required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
