Advanced Systems Design is seeking an IT Project Manager for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

Job Overview:

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Defines requirements, establish a business case, develops high-level designs of the functional solution and/or process, and communicates a proposed solution.
• Establishes and manages project scope and manages change through identification of impact to IT and stakeholders.
• Develops and manages project schedules and communicates schedule progress with stakeholders, ensuring that project delays or accelerations are known at the earliest point.
• Conducts risk assessments to identify project risks and manages risk by defining preemptive risk mitigation activities. Manages project issues through documentation, communication of impact, and collaboration with IT resources and stakeholders on proposed solutions.
• Facilitates product testing/release, ensuring functional resources are aware and prepared for the testing event. Documents failed acceptance conditions and facilitate the necessary corrective actions.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date project documentation. Conducts meetings with stakeholders, IT staff, and vendors, ensuring required notes and action items are produced and completed.
• Establishes working relationships with IT staff, business owners, and stakeholders to effectively advocate for project needs.
• Follows IT PMO project management processes and provides guidance and acts as subject matter expert in areas related to best practices and policies related to project management to IT and other agency staff.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of IT Project Management experience including managing projects with extended duration, budget responsibilities, and supervision of multiple persons in different skill areas
• Experience defining requirements to establish a business case, developing high-level designs of the functional solution and/or process, and communicating a proposed solution.
• Experience establishing and managing project scope and managing change through identification of impact to IT and stakeholders.
• Experience developing and managing project schedules and communicating schedule progress with stakeholders, ensuring that project delays or accelerations are known at the earliest point.
• Experience conducting risk assessments to identify project risks and managing risk by defining preemptive risk mitigation activities. Manages project issues through documentation, communication of impact, and collaboration with IT resources and stakeholders on proposed solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer a candidate that has the experience and/or is interested in criminal justice information/computerized criminal history
• Prefer PMP certification 

Education:

Prefer bachelor's degree in any related area
