This Field Applications Engineer will be responsible for AMD's strategic Embedded FPGA accounts in Florida. The FAE is responsible for all presales and post sales technical interaction with AMD customers and AMD factory experts to maximize AMD presence in our customers systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deep technical support to customers in their selection and use of AMD development tools, silicon and IP products that ensure success.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance that focuses on design win strategies for all customer opportunities.
  • Analyze customer needs and compare AMD and competitive solutions to maximize the customers use of AMD products.
  • Collaborate with field and factory resources to develop and deliver technical proposals to customer project managers, engineering managers, system architects and design engineers.
  • Code and implement circuits to demonstrate efficient use of AMD technology and competitive advantages to secure design wins.
    • Technical solution creation (e.g.: hardware, software demos, example designs)
    • Guide customers through their design process
    • Provide onsite support, and solve real time problems including software tool issues, coding, and simulation assistance, HW lab debug, embedded system bring-up.
  • Create or edit and deliver presentations and demos on AMD products, tools, and methodologies that align with customers' needs.
  • Provide regular feedback to AMD management and factory experts on the needs of the customer base.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience with FPGA and/or ASIC including Verilog and/or VHDL coding and simulation/verification tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience with FPGA and/or ASIC including Verilog and/or VHDL coding and simulation/verification tools.
  • Prior experience with AMD VIVADO and Vitis Tools
  • Design experience using high performance external memory interface controllers and protocols.
  • Design experience using FPGA based high-speed serial transceivers.
  • Industry or design experience with C/C , Machine Learning Networks, Python
  • Embedded processing knowledge
    • Familiar with x86 and ARM architectures, performance metrics, OS (especially Linux), BSP, drivers, and debugging tools.
    • Technical knowledge of GPU and CPU architectures and tradeoffs
    • Understanding of both hardware and software development process for FPGA-based SoC/ACAP
  • Knowledge of Aerospace & Defense market requirements and architectures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentations skills, and the ability to work with multiple groups.
  • Experience in a customer support or customer facing role.
