The Business Development Manager will work alongside our CEO and COO to implement a strategy to grow our existing client base in our established market as well as new verticals. The Business Development Manager will need to clearly articulate the Aduro service and product offering, while working with prospective clients to understand their needs. As a member of the Aduro Advisors team, this individual must be able to grow positive, collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners.

Here is the type of work you will do:

  • Run the majority of prospective client calls by providing an overview of our service and product offering, assess prospective clients needs and pain points, and explain how Aduro can be the solution
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our technology platform and an associated sales strategy specific to this offering
  • Own the client proposal process including pricing, negotiations, and final close – looping in the CEO and COO as needed
  • Support the existing client pricing process to ensure consistency and profitability across like-vehicles
  • Obtain a full understanding of Aduro’s client base including client contacts and their backgrounds, investment focus, and other key firm information to better identify client fit 
  • Create strong working relationships between your team, product and marketing to ensure all functions are supporting the same revenue goals
  • Obtain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and their service offerings 
  • Develop relationships with strategic partners and work to develop partnership offerings to complement or amplify Aduro’s offering

Requirements

  • 4-7 years’ experience within a business development or client relationship focused role
  • Prior experience selling software to the venture capital and private equity community is a significant plus 
  • Significant knowledge of the venture capital industry and the service offering of a fund admin
  • Prior experience in managing relationships with high profile partners 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills through a variety of mediums
  • Comfortable with software systems including Salesforce, Gsuite, Microsoft Office, Box, Slack
