The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company including oversight of accounting personnel, preparation of monthly financial statements & supporting reconciliations, prospective reporting & budgeting, compliance and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Reconciliation of bank statements to the general ledger.
• Reconciliation and preparation of supporting schedules of receivables, prepaid expenses, and other assets to the general ledger.
• Maintenance of fixed asset schedule and calculation and posting of depreciation expense.
• Assist with inventory costing process.
• Analysis of inventory valuation.
• Analysis of any slow-moving/obsolete inventory.
• Calculation of markdown allowance.
• Reconciliation of gross profit to the general ledger.
• Reconciliation of accounts payable to general ledger.
• Maintaining proper cutoff.
• Ensure vendor invoices are properly coded.
• Reconciliation and preparation of supporting schedules for all accrued expenses outside of accounts payable.
• Reconciliation of customer deposits to the general ledger.
• Reconciliation of related party balances to the general ledger.
• Oversight of payroll process.
• Development of accounting staff.
• File all necessary tax returns and other compliance.
• Monthly financial statement analysis.
• Comparison of budgets to actual results.
• Presentation of financial results and analysis to management team.
• Work with Executive Management to develop and maintain projections and forecasts for new business ventures with high growth potential.
• Work closely with CPA firm on corporate tax returns and other tax filings.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance required - CPA a plus.
• Must have 5-7 years of progressive finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing company - apparel experience a plus.
• Strong Excel skills to include financial modeling, pivot tables and vlookups.
• Experience with ERP software use and implementation.
• Working knowledge of sales and use taxes.

Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation range $85,000 - $90,000
