Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide coverage at a facility located in Wayne County, NY. The ideal candidate should have experience providing direct psychiatry services including treatment and conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for competency restoration. The services are telehealth with flexible coverage. However, the acceptable frequency of services provided should be no less than once weekly. The virtual visits are currently 4 per month on Wednesday afternoons.

Requirements:
• Active NY license
• Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing
• BE/BC by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) - Preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
• Provide Psychiatric/Tele-psychiatric services to residents upon staff referral/ recommendation
• Provide face-to-face time (via video conference or in person) with residents for regular and follow-up visits
• Review resident/ patient chart for new patient referrals
• Review resident's medication regime
• Document and review medication for drug-drug interactions
• Document and chart visits with residents
• Meet with residents and family members to discuss the condition and any potential remedies
• Return staff emails and calls
• Work with facilities Nurse Practitioners regarding resident's care plan
• Participate in in-service education programs for appropriate nursing home staff upon request
