Role Overview

In this role you will provide necessary management and design of critical IT applications software products in support of core and network platforms. You will determine internal and external customer requirements, architecture and systems design, and oversee basic programming and coding, following up on design implementation and results. You will also write programs for systems patches, upgrades, conversions, etc.

Day-to-Day

• Financial Institution Application oversight and configuration management of core Credit Union systems.
• Basic understanding of LAN/ WAN network environment.
• Basic understanding of Active Directory management.
• Install and test new software releases, patches and system upgrades.
• Responsible for assembling/managing small to medium size project teams.
• Creates and maintains documentation of Software/Hardware configurations and support resolution.
• Maintain Vendor contacts and relationships.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support. Resolve support requests as required or escalate to appropriate vendor or internal IT staff and follow up to ensure timely resolution of the issue.
• Create and maintain documentation of Software configurations and support issue resolution.
• Consistently meet assigned project deadlines and goals.
• Ability to work On Call or provide After-Hours support in order to install, upgrade, or resolve issues with critical Software and/or Systems.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
• Maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
• Acquires and maintains an in-depth understanding of the technical and functional architecture of assigned systems and integration.
• Collaborate with business units, vendors and technical staff to achieve business results.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Performs such other duties as might be assigned.

Requirements

Requires at least 3-5 years previous applications programming and development/design, along with strong PC skills in Excel, SQL, etc. Previous experience within a large financial institution is preferred; large data center experience desired. Four year degree with emphasis on information systems, application design, development, etc. desired, or equivalent in additional job experience.
