Our Lincolnwood, IL based client is looking for a self-motivated, detailed-oriented, analytical thinking, VP of Accounting/Finance to join their growing team. Our client is a fast paced and growing established IT services company. The right candidate will have a passion for technology and play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as the company continues to enhance its quality offerings and undergoes rapid growth. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager who, along with the executive management team, will lead everything regarding finance and accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliation and tax filings
• Manages the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, projections and monthly reporting
• Prepares variance analysis that results in insights and actions that the business can take to improve performance
• Provides strategic analysis, financial modeling, presentations and ad-hoc requests
• Reviews and approves monthly journal entries
• Oversees and prepares the Statement of Cash Flows across multiple entities making recommendations for continuous process improvements to maximize efficiency and automation
• Develops and maintains internal financial controls to provide ongoing financial reporting integrity and ensures proper internal controls are documented and enforced
• Oversees budgeting cycles with support from executive management including the development of budget presentations
• Provides technical accounting guidance on key accounting policies in accordance with GAAP
• Partners with external Auditors and oversees annual audit and any additional ad hoc compliance audits
• Assists in the ongoing relationship management of external accounting firm, audit partners, tax advisors and 3rd party professional service providers
• Performs effective prioritization of projects and time management to meet deadlines
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with senior management and board members
• Analyze and monitor customers and assist in identifying upsell opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders to drive revenue growth

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 6 years’ experience in Controller or Director of Accounting/Finance role
• CPA preferred
• Experience in public accounting preferred
• Experience working in a recurring revenue model business (subscription based), technology or managed service experience preferred
• Advance knowledge of Financial Software (QuickBooks)
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• “Can do” attitude to dive deep and accomplish tasks, entrepreneurial/start-up spirit
• Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
