Ada County is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Boise, ID

Provides general HR support to the Ada County Clerk's Office; including working with Ada County Human resources to manage personnel information for the office, managing administrative tasks related to HR, guides the hiring process, employee training, performance management, employee communications, policy development, employment law compliance; and performs related duties as required.
 
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
This position works under minimal supervision and carries out work assignments in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training or accepted HR practices. This is an intermediate level, professional HR position. The incumbent in this position would typically possess 2-5 years of experience in the HR field.
  • Maintains and updates the personnel action system and provides technical assistance to managers and supervisors;
  • Processes personnel actions for consistency and accuracy;
  • Manages job postings, interviews, hiring processes, and employee on boarding;
  • Recommends short and long-term goals regarding employee satisfaction;
  • Monitors goal achievement for employee satisfaction initiatives;
  • Manages and administers the performance management program;
  • Reviews office HR functions and documents for compliance and identifies and recommends potential systems solutions;
  • Drafts, revises, and recommends HR policies and procedures;
  • Interprets and explains HR rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Develops and conducts training for employee professional development;
  • Analyzes exit interview and turnover reports to identify trends;
  • Develops HR communications, employee surveys, and other employment-related materials.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Completes special projects as assigned;
  • Performs related functions as required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field and at least two years experience in HR;
  • Knowledge of the principles and best practices of HR;
  • Knowledge of performance management practices;
  • Knowledge of human resource information systems;
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADAAA, EEO, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act;
  • Knowledge of effective employee supervision and motivation;
  • Skill in using personal computers and MS Office Suite;
  • Skill in communicating with employees;
  • Skill in interpreting policies and explaining complex information in an understandable fashion;
  • Skill in compiling and analyzing data and information for reports;
  • Skill in making presentations in group settings;
  • Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing and exercising tact and discretion;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of human resource issues and records;
  • Ability to work under own initiative and utilize independent judgment;
  • Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish division and office goals;
  • Ability to work with department heads, elected officials, vendors, employees, and the public.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions;
  • May be required tolift up to 20 lbs.;
  • Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks.
