Overview

As a member of the Operations team, the Associate Business Analyst is responsible for deriving meaningful insights from various financial, inventory, contracts, and media data sources. The Analyst works closely with employees across multiple teams to update information, ensure accuracy, and facilitate communication and collaboration. Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining data dashboards in Tableau that highlight key trends and opportunities related to company financial performance. The Analyst will also oversee the ongoing data stewardship of cross-platform vendor and client master tables and work as a liaison between Operations and the Information Solutions team.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update data housed in Active’s master tables:Identify exceptions and other inconsistencies in the data. Work with members of the business team to investigate and resolve the issues.Develop and implement processes for populating and updating information.Identify opportunities for automation, and partner with relevant parties to implement the solutions. Develop and enhance corporate revenue and inventory reports and dashboards:Work closely with the applicable stakeholders to define the requirements of each report and dashboard with a focus not only on answering their immediate question, but also understanding the underlying need to anticipate and proactively answer future questions.Gain knowledge of Active’s business model and operations to develop a keen understanding of the structure and intricacies of the data/databases being utilized. Extract and manipulate data sets from existing data sources as available. Define and articulate needs to the Data & Analytics team to secure additional data views as necessary. Investigate and resolve data issues using a variety of tools, including MS SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Excel, IBM Planning Analytics, PeopleSoft, Mediaocean, and others. Develop accurate and visually appealing reports and dashboards using the Tableau visualization tool.Update reports as necessary to keep them current and accurate (eg, updating team groups after personnel changes, maintaining parent/child relationships, etc). Communicate findings and actionable insights based on those findings to the management team. Generate user acceptance of the data and dashboards:Conduct training sessions for new users and enhancement sessions for all usersMaintain and promote a dictionary of terminology relating to our data and reportsMaintain and promote proper process documentation relating to our data and reportsIdentify areas of improvement and implement processes that create efficienciesProvide support and expertise to corporate initiatives as neededCreate, generate, and analyze reporting to stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a business focus, or equivalent experience, is requiredMinimum requirement of 1-3 years of related experience Tableau (or a comparable visualization tool) knowledge/training is requiredMicrosoft SQL Server Management Studio knowledge/training is preferredAdvanced Excel skills are preferredIBM Planning Analytics knowledge/training is a plusPeopleSoft (CMS) training is a plus
