Actalent is Hiring a Laboratory Assistant Near Frederick, MD
Description:
The candidate shall be responsible for performing a wide array of inventory jobs throughout the lab. Is in charge of the inventory for all lab departments, including the biological specimens.
Duties include: incoming receipt and inspection; stock inventoried materials on shelves in inventory room; stock laboratory with required material, assist labs with set up and stocking of material and specimens; and pick materials for production orders per GMP operation requirement; perform cycle counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies; coordinate shipments of materials through receiving and distribution phases; package and ship products; and assist other warehousing tasks as assigned.
The candidate shall be required to effectively interface with all levels of internal staff including R&D/PD/QC/QA, GMP team, procurement, and external suppliers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Min high school diploma and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Would prefer an associates degree in a science discipline with inventory or material/repository handling (people going through school will be ok if they can make the hours work)
- Prior relevant work experience such as warehouse management, repository handling, specimen processing, etc.
- Strong communication and analytical skills required.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple activities in parallel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Ability work through issues with all levels of team members
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, to stand for prolonged periods, and to climb ladders to pull inventory from shelves.
