Job Summary:

The Manager, Operational Excellence – Technical Training is a strategic partner to Acrisure Business Services (ABS) and Acrisure Home Office in the execution of technical training initiatives. The Manager will lead the planning, development, creation, and execution of training initiatives to improve overall operational efficiency and productivity of employees, while adhering to the programs, learning principles, models, and frameworks built by the HR Learning and Development team. The Manager actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance, and promote continuous learning and improvement. The Manager partner with the HR Learning and Development team and will build strong relationships with Acrisure Business Services Leaders, functional leaders, specialists, and members of the Operational Excellence team to determine areas for employee improvement, developing training courses for new and existing employees, and establishing methods to track employee performance after the completion of training. The Manager, Operational Excellence – Technical Training is experienced in instructional design, writing, facilitation, and leadership, up to date on the latest tools, resources, and best practices needed to improve employee training and performance. This position will be located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the technical training facilitators and ensuring workload is divided equally amongst while promoting cross-functional learning opportunities
  • Responsible for reviewing work of technical training facilitators, identifying unresolved issues that need correction/further exploration, and evaluating if the proper technical approach was taken
  • Lead with excellence and foster a high-performing team in both virtual and in-person environments; develop your direct report through advocacy, coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Ensure training plans enable a culture of continuous improvement, developing strategies to maximize efficiencies and unlock capacity
  • Ensure training supports team competency to provide prompt, accurate, courteous, “best in class” service to Partners, insurance companies, leadership team and all staff
  • Manage resources and budgets to ensure the effective delivery of curriculum, programs, and processes
  • Evolve and expand the curriculum, in partnership with HR Learning & Development team, leveraging best practices, and future-focused innovations to:
    • Buy, build, and/or redesign solutions as needed
    • Recommend appropriate delivery mechanisms to meet the learning objectives and in alignment with firm COVID-19 guidance (e.g., classroom, on demand, virtual classroom, performance support, blended learning)
    • Develop the vision, strategy, and implementation plan to drive learning beyond the classroom, employing emerging technologies, and creative design ideas to make learning “sticky”
  • Oversee the analysis of learner feedback, following industry standard models, and other data to promote continuous improvement of development solutions, consistently moving development to the next level ultimately driving to behavior change (level 4)
  • Execute with strong project management skills, including monitoring work-plans and managing against milestones, knowing what to prioritize and why, knowing who to keep informed, why, and how often, and knowing when to escalate

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or five (5) or more years of experience in training, learning, development, organizational psychology, instructional design, and/or education leadership roles.
  • Experience in a large corporate environment on a technical or learning and development team.
  • Experience in learning management tools, including Workday, LinkedIn Learning, and Articulate, preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential, preferred.
  • Knowledge of (willingness to learn) Lean Six Sigma tools is a plus.
