Description

Acme Truck Line is a leading asset-based transportation and logistics company based in Gretna, LA. Acme primarily serves the Gulf Coast energy industry with a fleet of 1,100 trucks, 60 field offices, and 150 company employees. 

The CIO will be responsible for developing the strategy and vision for the company’s information technology (IT) functions. They will direct a staff (currently 3 employees and 2 contractors) in the development, implementation, integration, and management of the company’s information technology capabilities. 

The Acme CIO will:

• Be accountable for planning, implementing, and maintaining enterprise technology systems that enhance the company’s market position and cost efficiency. 
• Oversee organization-wide technology initiatives with control of budgets ensuring they align with corporate goals and objectives. 
• Provide leadership on initiatives to maintain, integrate and/or upgrade the organization’s IT capabilities through project management.
• Establish, document, and enforce standards for the acquisition, implementation, and proper use of the information technology tools and processes throughout the organization. 
• Maintain relationships with external service partners to ensure consistent delivery, adherence to security and other standards, and review contracts and negotiate for new engagements.
• Regularly review company’s risk maturity level and suggest improvements to achieve operational uptime standards. 
• Act as the primary point of contact for executive leadership during major IT changes or potential crises.
• Continually seek new innovations to assure the company stays technologically competitive.
• Evaluate current team talent and capabilities. Propose best path to fill needs, either through outsources, upskilling, or hiring.

Requirements

Background Required:

Senior IT Executive (6 years)

Progressive responsibility in managing & directing IT operations

Oversight of a technical support staff 

Bachelor’s Degree or sufficient related experience

Background Preferred:

Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (e.g. TMW Suite, McLeod, MercuryGate)

Experience with critical platform legacy migration projects

Advanced Degree or relevant credentials and certifications (PMP/CAPM, CISM/CRISC/CISSP, CompTIA)

Resides in Metro New Orleans Area
