Ace Hotel & Swim Club is Hiring an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager Near Palm Springs, CA

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports all aspects of the day to day operation of King’s Highway Restaurant, In Room Dining, Amigo Bar, Pool, Banquets and Commune in accordance with hotel standards. Directs implements and maintains a service and management philosophy and standards which serves as a guide to respective staff. The Assistant F&B manager will work closely with Senior Management to monitor the effectiveness of the services and products offered in the outlets and adjust accordingly to ensure maximum profitability of the outlets. Responsible for providing lateral service and support to other departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled.
  • Document any late or absent employees.
  • Inspect attire of staff and ensure attire is Ace-approved.
  • Review daily sales and resolve discrepancies with Accounting.
  • Coordinate breaks for staff.
  • Assign work and side duties to staff in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Conduct pre-shift meeting with staff and review all information pertinent to the day’s business.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  • Maintain consistent knowledge of house accounts and arrivals.
  • Monitor the preparation of station assignments, ensuring compliance t o departmental standards.
  • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
  • Inspect all aspects of the restaurant environment ensuring compliance with standards of cleanliness and order. Rectify all deficiencies.
  • Ensure all employees are fully trained in their job functions and in Service training
  • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment. Complete requisitions to replenish.
  • Ensure that specified amounts of menus and wine lists are available and in good condition for each meal period.
  • Anticipate guest’s needs and promote positive guest relations through name recognition at all times.
  • Monitor and handle guest complaints
  • Ensure that all staff closing duties are complete before staff sign out.
  • Expedite on the floor and in the kitchen as business demands
  • Assist in POS & menu changes
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and communicate with management. Contact engineering for urgent repairs
  • Access all functions in the POS system in accordance with specifications.
  • Assist with monthly inventories of liquor and wine as needed
  • Perform special projects or assignments assigned by senior management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in Preparing weekly schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts and adjust schedules throughout the week to meet the business demands
  • Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring Service is being carried out according to departmental standards.
  • Assist in interviewing and screening potential candidates
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees
  • Provide feedback to staff on their performance. Handle disciplinary problems and council employees according to hotel policy
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
