Position Description:

This position will be responsible analyzing the business needs of departments to identify problems, opportunities, and ultimately provide solutions that help achieve business goals by using technology systems/services.

Responsibilities:

•Within the systems development life cycle the BA will work as a liaison to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes or information systems.

•Gather information about problems to be solved or procedures that can be improved using technology.

•Interview personnel and conduct reviews to determine the methods, equipment, and personnel that will be needed for system changes, etc.

•Map out current business processes to determine ways to streamline processes.

•Find root causes for problems and propose solutions that may include new systems or procedures to be proposed and/or implemented.

•Present findings and recommendations to decision makers.

•Confer with managers to ensure changes are implemented and work as desired.

•Guide department staff on effective and efficient approaches to achieving desired objectives.

•Manage risks and provide input to risk management process.

•Produce quality documentation outlining requirements and solutions. Specific deliverables required include: business requirement specifications, functional requirements, non-functional requirements, report specifications

•Report updates/status to IT Project Manager as needed.

•Contribute to enterprise-wide architecture development and design.

•Manage tickets and maintain timely service levels 

•Utilize a traceability matrix that traces requirements through each stage of requirements gathering 

Education/Experience/Licensure:

1.Minimum Education: Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field and 7 or more years of progressively responsible work experience in business or systems analysis, preferably in a healthcare or managed care environment which provided the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position.

2.Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related field and 3 or more years of progressively responsible work experience in business or systems analysis, preferably in a healthcare or managed care environment which provided the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position.
