Responsibilities

  • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Description
      • The Quality Assurance Manager position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to maintain ACI’s quality standards by using any means necessary to accurately measure, document and satisfy industry and customer specifications.
      • This position requires a detailed knowledge of ISO 9001 and standards of Quality, along with the ability to capture and communicate quality performance at ACI.
    • Duties
      • Act as the management representative for the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring that ACI conforms to current ISO 9001 code standards as well as other certification standards like AISC.
      • Track process performance by monitoring the QIRT (Quality Incident Reporting Tool).
      • Maintain the Measurement Equipment Calibration System to stay current on all calibrated items. This includes scheduling and issuing purchase orders to vendors as necessary.
      • Document all reported quality incidents and complete the “Quality Department” portion of the QIRT and determine if incidents are to be classified as non-conformances.
      • Facilitate all non-conformance investigations, generate non-conformance reports, and distribute to relevant management.
      • Report quality performance of ACI, oversee the QA data integrity process to ensure compliance.
      • Perform, monitor, and track Corrective Action completion and evaluate effectiveness.
      • Conduct Quality on-site vendor evaluations as needed.
      • Ensure AFC drawings from Project Managers and/or Coordinators are distributed to designated Shop Superintendent after reviewing drawings for proper documentation and instructions.
      • Documentation is not limited to only drawings. Drawing may include in-house routers and/or customer ITPs.
      • Attend pre-job meetings to establish quality requirements per customer requirements and specifications.
      • Develop and maintain necessary techniques and enforce procedures to ensure compliance with applicable codes and customer specifications.
      • Develop and maintain welding procedures per customer and industry specification requirements.
      • Maintain welder continuity logs.
      • Oversee and monitor data book requirements set forth in Acadian’s in-house data book index and/or customer generated data book needs.
      • Assist Managers, along with Shop Superintendents, in keeping quality procedures/processes in place and actively practiced daily.
      • Facilitate and manage all aspects of customer audits as needed to satisfy requirements for potential, or upcoming, work.
      • Assist Estimator during bid to confirm adequacy and availability of WPS/PQR, Welder Qualifications, and Paint procedures; provide any estimates of same required.
      • Always have a positive attitude towards customers being serviced as well as ACI as a company.
  • Qualifications

    • Education
      • Bachelor, (4 year) or Associate, (2 year) degree preferred.
      • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Experience
      • 5 years minimum experience, (Piping, Vessel and/or Structural) fabrication with knowledge of NDE processes for welding validity.
      • Preferred 3-5 years minimum experience in the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems.
