This role requires strong financial skills as well as the ability to liaise with counters internally and raise the finance awareness bar within the business.

We are looking for a candidate that would have similar experience to an applicant from Big Four with two or three busy seasons under their belt who can work autonomously. Please consider this required experience prior to application. You will be managing an accounting junior and responsible for all reporting and operations of the team including billing/invoicing, AR collections, payments of vendors, cashflow management, producing executive reports, FP&A, and commercial due diligence. This is a hands-on role so be prepared to help out on other tasks on an ad-hoc basis.

The Role:

  • Analyze and appropriately classify all business expense transactions
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for accrued/deferred revenues, prepaid/accrued expenses, and other entries
    • Must understand the difference between accrued/deferred revenues and how to record them (please note, this is not the same as accrued/deferred/prepaid expenses)
    • Must understand the concept of accrual accounting vs cash basis, including straight line lease accounting
    • Must understand the principles of cash flow management and the working capital cycle
  • Be responsible for preparing and sending all billing/invoicing to clients with a high level of accuracy and transparency with BUs ensuring timeliness and efficiency
  • Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Ensure quality control, integrity over all financial transactions, compliance, and financial reporting including internal controls requirements
  • Prepare monthly comprehensive financial analysis and business commentaries with respect to the BU performances
  • Review the Income Statement and Balance Sheet items monthly up to management reports with variance analysis compared to budget/forecast/prior year
  • Evaluate and strengthen existing internal controls, implement new controls in a commercially balanced manner
  • Ensure that credit control processes are in place and operating in line with agreed parameters and to construct/disseminate a weekly cash flow forecast so that the organization maintains appropriate cash levels to meet its liabilities and projected expenditures
  • Create, modify and maintain spreadsheets using Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Assist with revenue operations, payroll, and other accounting responsibilities including commercial diligence and revenue accounting
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with employees, PEO, and Human Resource Department
  • Assist team members with various financial reports, projects and other duties, as needed

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance preferred, but not required
  • 2-5 years of experience with Big Four or equivalent (please consider this required experience prior to application)
  • CPA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualified is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles - The interview will involve technical accounting questions
  • Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • QuickBooks Online experience preferred

Location:

This is a full-time hybrid position in Atlanta, Georgia, with remote work and in-office requirements. In-office requirements include three in-office days per week, with the option for remote work the other two days.
