ABC Technologies is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Wyoming, MI

Overview

This position will help lead the management teams in each plant in their efforts to continuously improve the relationship between the plant employees and the management team as indicated in the employee survey scores. The HR Manager will also promote a good work environment by promoting good communication and cooperation, maintaining positive habits and attitude as well as creating an environment that fosters an open-door policy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Human Resource policies and procedures are properly interpreted, efficiently implemented and that all federal, state and local laws and statutes, as they relate to Human Resource practices are adhered to.
  • Provides day to day supervision to Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits.
  • Direct recruitment of personnel at all levels.
  • Arrange, direct, and supervise new employee orientation.
  • Conduct exit interviews, where applicable, for terminating employees.
  • Maintain necessary turnover statistics.
  • Implement, coordinate, monitor, and assist with the presentation of Company training programs, ensuring that the ABC Tech Center is aware of the training and required pre-approval is done.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to employees, supervisors, and management with respect to in-house training, outside sources, procedures, benefits coverage, etc.
  • Provide interpretations to management personnel in compliance with corporate discipline policies and procedures.
  • Ensure up to date confidential employee file system is in place.
  • Ensure the safety policies and procedures are being enforced.
  • Interface with carious agencies such as Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, EEOC, etc.
  • Ensure Total Time is accurately updated and calculated on time.
  • Assists Operations Manager in matters such as wage increases, morale improvements, benefits administration, etc.
  • Ensure that all aspects of his or her area of responsibility are in full compliance with the quality system in place at all times.
  • Contributes to a work environment where fairness, equality and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.
  • Informs employees of changes to day-to-day responsibilities and provides regular constructive feedback on their performance.
  • Ensures all department personnel are aware of and working to their job description and standards.
  • Recommends and takes appropriate action when employees are not meeting standards.
  • Ensures employees have sufficient training and information to perform tasks efficiently in both quantity and quality.
  • Keeps employees informed of company policies, practices and procedures through departmental meetings and one-on-one discussions.
  • Is receptive to employee problems and seeks to provide a prompt response and resolution.
  • Advises Human Resources of all unusual and/or abnormal employee problems or concerns.
  • Read, understand and comply with Corporate Managers Handbook.
  • Provide information, instruction and supervision to Employees, to protect health or safety of the Employee.
  • Carry and enforce ABC Automotive Systems, Inc. workplace safety guidelines and health and safety statement.
  • Ensure first aid treatment is given to an injured employee immediately and further assistance, including medical is sought immediately.
  • Complete reports of accidents / incidents immediately and participate in corrective action process.
  • Ensure safety concerns that arise from safety incidents, accidents or safety meetings are corrected immediately.
  • Ensure work instructions are followed to produce quality part per customer specifications.
  • Cooperate, participate and lead corrective actions in conjunction with health and safety committee, continuous improvement team and other departments within facility.
  • Assist the HR Department with the tracking of Employees attendance, overtime and scheduling to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the interviewing and hiring process for new Production Team Members as necessary.
  • Ensure all local, state and federal laws are upheld and followed in relation to safety, environmental, hiring and recruitment and worker safety, as stated by KYOSHA and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Association.
  • Contribute to a work environment free from harassment, where fairness, equity and non-discriminatory practices are standard
  • Adhere to the Quality Policy and Environmental Policy as they relate to ISO 9001: 2015 (QMS) / ISO 14001:2015 (EMS) / IATF 16949 2016 (AQMS)

Qualifications

  • 5 years related experience in a Human Resoures role within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree; preferably in Human Resources
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Leadership and organizational skills required
