Sr. Systems Analyst
Job Purpose
The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for ongoing Electronic Health Records applications support and the implementation of the clinical OCHIN Epic applications (Practice Management and EHR) and IT data systems. This position provides OCHIN Epic EHR Support for the Health Center and Specialty Mental Health practices. The Sr. Systems Analyst is responsible for engaging with and scoping stakeholder requirements, implementing enhancements and related third party applications as well as maintaining systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clinical operations and patient care teams to facilitate upgrades, acceptance, integration, and optimal use of the Epic application.
- Complete moderately complex tickets end to end to ensure resolution.
- Escalate complex issues to the IT team.
- Perform OCHIN Epic application configuration complete onboarding and offboarding of users per OCHIN Epic best practices.
- Administer the EHR Support Analyst-only areas of Epic, including: SmartTools, User Accounts, WebTools, Order Preference Lists, Patient Merges, and Provider Master Files.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians with established and approved EHR processes to manage requests for
- Additions of diagnoses and procedures codes to the system.
- Requests for additional system-level charting tools from the review process through follow-up communication to users. Coach the user through creating their own SmartPhrases, etc.
- Additional clinical workflows or requests
- Work with advisory workgroups, IT, and vendors to ensure that the application systems upgrades, devices, and features are reliably tested, documented, and implemented.
- Create Jira tickets for OCHIN support inquiries.
- Attend Health Center meetings as the OCHIN Epic expert and as the OCHIN liaison as requested.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis using tools such as OCHIN Epic Reporting Workbench, OCHIN Epic Clarity database querying, OCHIN Epic SAP Business Objects / Crystal Reports, Excel, and SQL.
- Complete other duties and related projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Informatics or Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with an enterprise Electronic Health Records software is required. Epic experience preferred..
- Data analysis experience and proficiency in SQL required; focus on health data preferred.
- Proficiency in other data reporting and development tools such as Tableau, Crystal Reports, Business Objects desired but not required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Self-motivated to learn new skills/software with minimal guidance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated initiative and flexibility to meet deadlines and end-user expectations.
- High level of project management skill with the ability to handle multiple tickets and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential background.
