Performs preventative maintenance on and makes repairs to Club-owned vehicles under general supervision.
Schedule and perform vehicle preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, and tire rotations. Diagnose vehicle issues, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment. Replace worn or broken parts, align wheels, adjust brakes, tighten bearings, tune engines, etc. Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined. Perform minor body work. Performs automobile and light truck repairs by disassembling and overhauling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and other assemblies. Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs, and requisitions new parts and equipment. Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective. Review completed maintenance and repair work with management and vehicle operators. Perform emergency road service, as required. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: High School diploma or GED required Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred Experience: 4 years Automotive repair and maintenance technician required, preferably on light-duty and medium-duty trucks Skills & Abilities: Ability to think, act and be safe. Encourage, build, and maintain mutual trust, respect, and cooperation with others. Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate with others by telephone, in written form, electronically, or in person. Ability to apply sound judgement to produce appropriate outcomes to a variety of situations, including high volume and challenging situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and accurately. Ability to operate a computer with relevant software applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work to achieve specific goals. Ability to safely operate Electrical and Mechanical equipment/tools (including but not limited to): multi-meter, air tank, jumper cables, lock-out tools, floor jack, air compressor, MDC computer, tire inflator, wheel lock, funnel, gas can, air impact gun, tire mallet, hand tools, lug wrenches and two-way radio. Ability to operate a variety of automotive diagnostic equipment, interpret results and perform repairs upon completion of training. Ability to repair machines or systems using the needed tools. Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Ability to determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Ability to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
