Reports To: AVP, Advanced Analytics Location: This role is based at one of our corporate locations in NY, NJ, OH or MN; remote alternatives in the same geographic region may be considered if consistent with business needs. Overview: ascena’s Advanced Analytics group is seeking an exceptional, highly-motivated and self-directed Data Scientist to join our team. We collaborate with our partner teams to deliver high-impacting data products and models across enterprise-wide functions, including technology, performance marketing, merchandise planning & allocation, ecommerce, customer experience, store operations, supply chain and others as ascena continues to modernize and evolve its machine learning capabilities. In our team, you will make an impact by: Developing technologically advanced solutions that make a large-scale impact and optimize the end-user experience. Operating with a start-up mentality, bringing new ideas to the table, and inspiring those around you to do the same. Identifying areas of opportunity, recommending solution designs and providing guidance to system and process enhancements. Successfully translating requirements into technical solutions. In this role, you will: Build and deploy machine learning and advanced analytics models to solve challenging business problems. Perform and present exploratory analysis to provide insight to business leaders. Deliver analytics thought leadership within the team and larger analytics function. Work in collaboration with other team members and stakeholders to design analytical solutions to business challenges. Coach and train junior data science resources domestically and offshore. Research next-generation machine learning and advanced analytics techniques. Qualifications: 3 years’ experience conducting data analysis and building machine learning models. Strong foundation in math, statistics, and computer science. Proficiency in Python and SQL. Real-world experience building and orchestrating machine learning pipelines (e.g., Kubeflow). Experience working in a cloud environment preferred (particularly AWS). Strong inclination towards exploring and learning new technologies. Very good verbal and written communications skills. Experience with MLOps a plus. Experience with CI/CD, Docker & Kubernetes preferred. Retail experience a plus. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Analytics or equivalent required. Master of Science in Data Science or equivalent preferred. The target salary for this role is: $95,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation within that range is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and other job-related factors.
