Job Title: Medical Records Staff

Location: Best Care Home Health, 3008 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414

Job Summary:

The Medical Records Staff will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy and security of all client’s medical records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, data management practices, and compliance regulations, including HIPAA.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and secure all client files, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and accurately documented.

- Process requests for medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and company policies.

- Perform regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify and correct record discrepancies.

- Implement and maintain a comprehensive filing system for both electronic and paper records.

- Manage all electronic faxes, including incoming and outgoing faxes, and download information to clients' Electronic Health Records (EHR).

- Train staff in records management practices and software.

- Stay informed about the latest in healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma required, Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health information management, Health Administration, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a home care setting with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.

- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and experience managing electronic faxes.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
