Description

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for planning and implementing the procure to pay process across multiple business units: Parcel, Packaging, Freight Brokerage, Fulfillment, and Corporate. The individual will provide strong leadership to our Accounts Payable team, ensuring the department operates smoothly, maintains accurate and complete records and is compliant with Maersk controls and procedures. Our goal is to provide a seamless procure to pay experience helping facilitate a simpler and productive environment for our internal customers.

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of Accounts Payable including the daily processing of all vendor bills (three-way match), disbursing checks and ACH payments, expense report processing through Concur, travel & purchase card reconciliations
• Dedication to accuracy of payables coding (GL account, department, line of business, location, subsidiary, etc)
• Work closely with Purchasing team on maintaining Master Vendor File
• New vendor set up
• Review item records for proper coding
• Control performer and reviewer for Maersk controls
• Prepare 1099’s and maintain vendor W-9 files
• Use Tax Reporting
• Coordinate with FP&A on creation of Visible (procurement) Projects in NetSuite. Confirm master file is up-to-date and all associated POs are tagged with proper project code
• Reduce payment issues, continuously improve departmental image, and focus attention on maximizing efficiency
• Serve as point of escalation for all vendor related issues
• Responsible for enforcement of Corporate Purchasing and Travel Policies
• Identify areas for process improvement and make recommendations on changes 
• Support the completeness and timeliness of accruals for the financial close process
• Responsible for staff assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent accounts payable experience
• Detail oriented 
• Proven track record for improving process efficiencies and solving problems
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Proficient in Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Working knowledge in NetSuite a plus
