A New Leaf is Hiring a Youth Care Worker Near Mesa, AZ

As Youth Care Worker, you will work with youth at A New Leaf’s La Mesita Community; a 110 low-income apartment complex dedicated to helping families maintain long term stable housing and improve their quality of life. The Youth Care Worker provides youth K-12 on-site with fun and engaging activities to foster positive attitudes and growth. You will be responsible for daily youth supervision, behavior redirecting, and activity management. You will work as a team with La Mesita’s Youth Care Coordinator to ensure child safety and participation in Youth Services.As a member of the La Mesita Support Services Team, you will work in a collaborative environment alongside caring professionals dedicated to delivering well-rounded services. Daily Youth Services hours are from 3PM – 6PM, so a suggested schedule would be 2:15-6:15, Mon-Fri for example.Hourly Pay Rate: $17 - $21 (depending on years of experience)Part-Time Schedule: 2:15pm – 6:15pm; may fluctuate depending on activities and filed tripsLocation: Mesa, AZQUALIFICATIONSEducation:High School diploma/ GED or equivalent required.Experience:1-2 years’ experience working with elementary school children in an educational or childcare setting.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities will include but not limited to:Organize structured activities for youth to include education, socialization, recreation, games, and arts & crafts.Implement program goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Report program progress weekly in written and verbal reports to supervisor.Document (verbal/written) and submit significant and routine paperwork such as progress notes, statistics reports, daily activities, upcoming events, special concerns, varied incident reports, etc., as required by the program and submit to appropriate personnel.Maintain daily cleanliness of and report any maintenance needs in weekly report to supervisor and to LM Apartments.Serve as positive role model/mentor for participants.Provide minimal tutoring/help with homework, if applicable.Accompany participants to approved off-site and on-site activities.Work with supervisor and LM Apartments to ensure coordination of services.Maintain accurate, thorough and current documentation of contact with consumers/families.Ensure confidentiality of verbal and written consumer/family information.Actively participate in the orientation and training of new or temporary staff and volunteers.Drive agency vehicle (12-15 passenger van) to transport clients and conduct program business.Compliance/Requirements:Class One Fingerprint Clearance CardValid Driver’s License with reliable transportationCurrent Auto Liability InsuranceClean 39 Month Motor Vehicle RecordMust Be At Least 21 Years of Age
