Purpose of Job:

Responsible for assembling the skid packaged units with all necessary packaging and equipment to functionally operate and test per client specifications while under the direction of the Assembler Lederman.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:

• Assemble/disassemble packaged units and prepare for painting as directed
  • Tag components for identification and location
  • Protect components and piping from contamination by covering all open holes
  • Organize and prepare items for painting if required (either on-site or at an outside vendor)
• Properly prepare and apply customer required paint system to major components
• Set-up area and safely perform hydrotests of piping and/or tubing systems
  • Ensure correct testing information and equipment is readily available prior to testing
  • Coordinate testing period with Assembly Lederman, AGIPPS QC and client representative
  • Correctly install all testing equipment to ensure that components and/or personnel are not endangered
  • Properly store testing equipment
• Properly set up and conduct leak tests on fabricated storage tanks
  • Read prints and completely assemble units
  • Review/interpret drawings and install components in correct location under direction of mentor or Assembly Lederman
  • Report and/or correct any deficiencies found during assembly related to bolting, gaskets, mounting hardware, incorrect components, and isolation materials
• Assist with installation and alignment of pump and motor combinations (i.e. c-face, direct-coupled, belt-drive systems) and Laser-align API pump and motor combinations while understanding the functionality of pumps and systems
• Read P & ID’s for tagging
• Set up area and safely perform complete functional tests on pumps and/or systems from start to finish as directed by a mentor, Assembler Lederman, or AGIPPS QC.
  • Ensure correct testing information/procedure is readily available prior to testing
  • Identify and communicate unusual testing requirements and adapt the test system to accommodate these requirements
  • Install correctly sized off-skid suction and discharge testing components per procedure as directed by a mentor or Assembly Lederman to ensure proper functionality and prevent damage to critical components
  • Correctly and safely charge pressurized equipment (i.e. dampeners)
  • Report and/or correct any deficiencies found during testing
  • Neatly and correctly prepare the required documentation
  • Maintain and properly store testing equipment
• Close out punch list items
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in proper working conditions with proper inspections necessary for that equipment
  • Clean and organize work area and shop
  • Communicate with immediate supervisor for daily tasks, consumable material inventory and responsibilities
• Maintain a high level of alertness to surroundings and caution of others working near
• Perform additional duties as assigned by appropriate personnel

Requirements

Education:

Highschool or equivalent

Licenses/Certificates:

Forklift & Overhead Crane certification required to begin work

Experience:

1 – 3 years mechanical or pump experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:

Good mechanical aptitude

Ability to follow direction

Ability to problem solve

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Physical Demands:

Very Heavy - Lifting greater than 100#, either mechanically or with manual assistance occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 50#; unrestricted walking and standing
