We are seeking an enthusiastic Studio Gym Manager in the Greenville, SC area with exceptional organizational and people skills to join our team at our 9Round Stone Avenue location.

Company OverviewFounded in 2008 by professional kickboxer Shannon Hudson and fitness enthusiast, Heather Hudson. This husband-and-wife team are proud that 9Round is a specialized fitness center that brings boxing and kickboxing fitness training to the average person in a convenient, affordable, 30-minute, full body circuit format. The program is developed around a proprietary and copyrighted system of nine challenging workout stations developed by Shannon himself. Today, there are nearly 400 franchised 9Round clubs open and operating throughout the world. We pride ourselves on being a brand that empowers our franchise partners, members and employees.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Gym Manager manages and oversees all aspects of the gym’s daily operations. This includes attracting and retaining members, hiring and training staff, maintaining the facility, and ensuring member satisfaction.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for training trainers on all 9Round systems within studio (ClubReady, Locker Room, PULSE, Fitradio et). 
  • Communicates practice scripts, price presentations, and common objections to trainers.
  • Responsible for greeting members and guests upon arrival, providing them with a positive and welcoming experience. 
  • Guides members to help them meet their fitness goals by providing guidance and support.
  • Responsible for training trainers on new and current policies and procedures. 
  • Conducts trainer meetings and team building activities.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and new employee orientation.
  • Monitors voicemails and emails daily and responds back in a timely manner.
  • Reviews bookings and ensures they are documented correctly. 
  • Monitors Zipwhip for following communications: Texts, Members, Prospects, Schedule Texts, Mass Texts and edits Templates and Keyworks.
  • Manages opening and closing checklists and ensures they are documented correctly. 
  • Reviews and processes cancellations. 
  • Responsible for reviewing and scheduling posts on Social Media Accounts.
  • Completes and reviews MAP.
  • Responsible for networking in the community—marketing, advertising, and outside events. 
  • Completes an expense report every month. 
  • Processes payroll weekly.
  • Creates schedule in WhenIWork schedule for all studios. 
  • Reviews and reports numbers (new members, lost members, new prospects, etc.). 
  • Promotes 9Round in a positive way and on a personal level. 
  • Provides backup support to trainers.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, as this list does not reflect all the duties and responsibilities of the Studio Gym Manager.

  • Proficient in mathematical skills
  • Firsthand knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sports management, or related experience
  • ​Personal Training Certification (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Group Fitness Certification (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Martial Arts/Boxing/Kickboxing Experience (preferred but not mandatory)

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience managing a gym, health club, or similar facility preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Works primarily in a climate-controlled environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Additional (weekends) or alternative hours (evenings) may be required as needed.
  • Ability to concentrate with various interruptions and noise levels.
  • Demonstrates and explains how to perform various exercises and routines to minimize injuries and improve fitness.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, use hands, fingers, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath.
  • Speaks clearly and understands the speech of another person. 
  • Must be able to jump rope, lift weights, and coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.
  • Must be able to stand and walk 100% of the time.
  • Occasionally will be expected to lift boxes not to exceed 50 pounds.

Salary is dependent upon education, certifications, additional skills, and time spent in the profession.
