Thank you for considering a career at Mercy Health Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position (2-3 sentences) Evaluates, plans, and implements Physical Therapy services for patients according to standards of practice of the profession, laws governing practice by the State of Ohio, and facility and department policies and procedures. Collaborates with the patient, family, and treatment team to maximize functional outcomes for the patient. Essential Job Functions Essential Functions (7-10) Statements - List the essential functions of the job. Essential functions are the reasons a job exists. Performs evaluations and patient care within designated scope of practice, according to hospital and department guidelines, and as directed by the Physical Therapist(s) across the continuum of care in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Documents patient care according to Hospital and department guidelines. Assists in orientation and supervision of new employees, students and volunteers. Attends required meetings and adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures including Mercy Core Values and EXCEL! patient experience commitment. Works weekends and holidays as assigned. Provides accurate feedback and oversees performance of Physical Therapist Assistants and makes recommendations for ongoing progress of treatment. Demonstrates behaviors which foster a positive work environment. Maintains all aspects of licensure/certification including CEU requirements. Maintains program productivity standards. Participates in PI to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of program. Demonstrates the ability to understand and react effectively to unique needs of patients in all group(s) served.and maintains appropriate ethical conduct at all times.
