Schedule: M- F 8:30am to 5pm

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Performs minor electrical duties such as voltage checks, continuity checks and replacement of broken parts
• Disassembles, repairs and replaces broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment
• Repairs and maintains the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment
• Performs and documents preventive maintenance to all machinery and equipment
• Requests parts or electrical components for machinery
• Troubleshoots, disassembles and repairs conveyor belts
• Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces bearings and electrical motors
• Assembles machinery and equipment using hand and pneumatic power tools
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Bilingual English- Spanish required
• 5 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic in a packaging area
• Experience in the reading of mechanical diagrams, blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Experience with A/DC motors, PLC electronic systems, and machinery installations
• Knowledge and experience with pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding and electronic systems
• Knowledge and experience operating a forklift
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Demonstrates a positive attitude towards learning, growth and adapting to change
• High accountability, resourceful, responsible, and hardworking

Physical Requirements:

Requires frequently standing, bending, lifting, exposure to dust, exposure to noise, using ladders and climbing high ladders of more than 10 feet to the roof to perform maintenance of air conditioning systems and humidifiers, exposure to electric circuits of up to 480 volts.

Typical Work Conditions:

Person will be subject to nutritional bulk ingredients, which may affect the respiratory system or the skin, including an environment subject to odors, dust or airborne allergens. Person will be working in a dry and low moisture environment
Person will be exposed to normal work hazards, including a variety of physical conditions such as a proximity to mechanical parts in movement. Exposure to noise.

Experience:

• Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Required)
