415 Group is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant Near Canton, OH

Classification: Full Time

Hours: 8:00 – 5:00 (M – F)

Reports to: Firm Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and posts employee payroll data, processes payroll and changes to portal on a bi weekly & semi-monthly basis. (including imports to QB & data entries)
  • Provides administrative support to Firm Administrator for matters that are highly confidential.
  • Works with Firm Administrator to plan, direct, and carry out firm policies relating to all phases of personnel activity including professional development of the staff
  • Works with Firm Administrator to maintain and update Employee Handbook in accordance with applicable employment laws and guidelines
  • Works with Firm Administrator to communicate and interpret new or revised policies to all employees
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Conducts periodic wage and benefit surveys to remain competitive in our markets
  • Works with Firm Administrator to coordinate and administer firm compensation and benefit programs, including enrolling employees in all benefit plans, coordinating annual enrollments (including disability enrollments and 401(k) distributions, rollovers and enrollments), and responding to questions and resolving problems/issues
  • Maintains the Firm’s master compensation spreadsheet and update as needed
  • Attend all seminars & programs on legal aspects of personnel management & the effective administration of Human Resources (Stark County & CPAmerica related events)
  • Prepares pre-employment paperwork such as offer letters & benefit packets, conducts background checks, employee onboarding, ensuring completion of all paperwork and necessary documentation.
  • Assists in conducting annual open enrollment meetings.
  • Studies and assesses benefits needs and trends. Obtain and evaluate benefit contract proposals. Recommends benefits programs to Management committee for approval
  • Assists Marketing Coordinator with all firm function and events (for clients and employees).
  • Resolves minor employee grievances
  • Coordinates and administers details of employee benefit programs including group health (medical, dental, vision), group life, educational assistance, 401(k), and COBRA administration
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation
  • Maintains employee files and records. Keeps information current and maintains a high level of involvement with all personnel transactions such as employee’s personal data, status of PTO taken, hires, increases, promotions, transfers, performance evaluations, professional development, participation in employee benefits, independence forms, and terminations
  • Conducts exit interviews with all departing employees and communicates significant problems or observations to partners
  • Develops, implements and monitors the firm’s partner-in-training program
  • Investigates incidents and prepares appropriate documentation for review by management for next steps.
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, performance review, safety, sexual harassment, etc.
  • Monitors completion of periodic job evaluations with management to ensure proper and up-to-date file documentation
  • Implements a firm-wide professional and leadership development program
  • Maintains and updates job descriptions within departments
  • Provides Phone Coverage support as scheduled or needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • SHRM certification preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and responsiveness
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to multi-task, handle interruptions and meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work independently
