4100 NB Alternatives Advisers LLC is Hiring an Analyst Near New York, NY

Summary: Neuberger Berman and its insurance-linked strategies team (“NB ILS”) are seeking an Analyst. NB ILS specializes in insurance-linked investments, with a focus on natural event risk strategies via ILWs, catastrophe bonds & other risk-transfer instruments including parametric insurance. The role will sit within the NB ILS analytics function. Responsibilities: Provide analytical support to underwriters, traders, and portfolio managers. Assist with the analysis and modeling on catastrophe reinsurance and retrocession opportunities, capital market transactions and other risk-transfer products. Use third catastrophe risk models, as well as proprietary tools, to effectively extract, manipulate and visualize data to support transaction and portfolio level decisions. Maintain and analyze data sources used to manage portfolio risk exposures, track real-time event losses, and investor reports. Contribute to the suite of proprietary analytical tools developed by the team. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in asset management, insurance and/or reinsurance is preferred but applications from another related industry (e.g., catastrophe modeling) will be considered. A bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in science, engineering, economics, mathematics, statistical techniques, or computer science. An advanced degree in the aforementioned fields of study is preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills complemented by a solid grounding working with and interpreting statistics. Coding/data manipulation (Advanced Excel, R, SQL, or Python) experience is preferred. Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Highly motivated, with a desire to work on a wide range of projects and contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial and conscientious culture. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of financial markets is helpful but not required. Willingness to expand knowledge of financial markets is required (Series 7/63 and professional designations, including but not limited to the CFA charter). Compensation Details The salary range for this role is $80,000-$100,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
