Avanti Markets is a 365 Retail Markets company, and this role will be embedded with the development teams to collaborate at the highest level. 

Avanti Markets is a leading provider of Micro Market technology. We created a whole new technology-driven channel for selling a wide variety of fresh and convenient items! Our customers are independent businesses who use our edge devices and Software-as-a-Service platform to operate their unattended retail locations.

We are presently searching for a DevOps engineer to work within our development teams to build and maintain our Azure-based CI/CD and observability infrastructures. This isn't a "throw it over the wall at DevOps" role -- you'll be with the dev team from sprint planning to release day as an integral part of getting software out the door!

What you'll be doing:

• Participating in the development team's Agile process: sprint planning, daily standups & retrospectives
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for our cloud, mobile, and IoT-based services
• Developing monitoring/observability functionality into each release
• Managing our pre-production environments and interfacing with production operations for live site issues
• Advocating for the security, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of the features we build
• Staying up to date with modern tools and techniques for software monitoring and release

What you won't be doing:

• Playing office politics
• Working an absurd number of hours with no end in sight
• Checking in code for projects that don't make a difference

Requirements

• Demonstrated success as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer with multiple products and release cycles using Agile techniques
• Proficiency in developing CI/CD and monitoring solutions using Powershell, ARM templates, Azure DevOps Pipelines, YAML, Application Insights, LogAnalytics and Kusto
• Experience testing and publishing mobile apps in the Google and Apple app stores
• Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring Azure services including Event Hub, Service Bus, Function Apps, SignalR, Storage Accounts, Synapse, App Services, VMs and Scale Sets
• Effective technical troubleshooting skills including deciphering .NET stack traces, reading c# and querying SQL data
• Effective written and verbal communication of technical/specialized content to a range of audiences.
• Resourcefulness and ability to identify and resolve blocking issues with minimal assistance.
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Experience designing and operating Chef, Ansible, Puppet or other state management applications
• Experience managing tens of thousands of device endpoints through code
