Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly financial close process in accordance with company timeline. Partner with teams to produce accurate results and identify areas for improvement and solve problems.
• Collaboration with reporting team on the quarterly close/reporting calendar to ensure that we have an integrated plan and timeline.
• Oversee monthly closing activities by reviewing, verifying, and approving accurate journal entries for all GL areas. Review monthly reconciliations for all GL areas. Ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards, SOX guidelines, and internal accounting policies.
• Review and verify accuracy of account balances and classifications. Analyze changes in balance sheet and income statement accounts and make recommendations to correct errors.
• Manage the preparation and review of multiple schedules required to support the financial reporting process, ensuring completeness and accuracy, and coordination of requests from our auditors to complete the audit.
• Be an important process owner on internal controls and business processes related to accounting operations. Recommend control changes and enhancements as needed.
• Support internal and external auditors in their annual audit, quarterly review, and SOX review procedures.
• Design, refine, and improve GL accounts monthly close procedures, lead process and system enhancements to lead operational efficiencies while maintaining accounting integrity. Ensure processes are scalable with designed and maintained controls.
• Manage the general ledger including updates, system access, chart of accounts. Administrator and main point of contact for month-end close systems.
• Collaborate with FP&A to support budget vs actual analysis and other overall department goals and objectives
• Lead and develop a high performing GL team while developing goals, identifying goals, and determining strategic projects for the team.
• Present quarterly goals, results, and lessons learned to ensure agreement within the team.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 6 years of progressive senior accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a publicly traded company environment
• CPA strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and SOX Section 404
• Experienced leader and mentor to team, with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects and related deliverables in a fast-paced environment

• Strong Microsoft Office Suite and ERP system skills required, Oracle Fusion experience a plus
