21st Century Equipment is accepting applications for a Territory Sales Manager based in Scottsbluff, Torrington, or Bridgeport, Nebraska. This position will manage sales operations within the territory to maximize the company’s market share, margin, equipment turn, and customer experience while promoting solutions for new & used agricultural equipment, associated technology, and value-added services to customers. Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of account management or direct sales experience in agriculture equipment or related field. JOB DESCRIPTION: Territory Sales Manager

REPORTS TO:  Regional Manager

SUPERVISES: Production Ag Account Managers

WORKS CLOSELY WITH:  This position works very closely with the VP of Sales, Remarketing Manager, Territory Aftermarket Managers, and Precision Ag Consultants

JOB SUMMARY: Manages sales operations within their assigned territory to maximize the company’s market share, margin, equipment turn, and customer experience. This will be done by attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent and effectively engaging appropriate personnel who create and deliver solutions to their assigned growers. These solutions would include new & used agricultural equipment, associated technology, and value-added services, directly to assigned customers normally within a defined geographic area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coach and support development and career planning of assigned teammates and ongoing evaluation of their performance.
  • Support account managers to strengthen key customer relationships and drive solution development.
  • Ensure consistent execution and accountability to the sales process.
  • Ensure appropriate sales team staffing and recruiting to reach “full” account coverage.
  • Drive adherence to Sales Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Takes the lead in sharing best practices and implementing common process throughout the Sales Department and up through organization leadership.
  • Collaborate with VP of Sales and Regional Manager to establish and execute sales goals for assigned region
  • Achieve budgeted sales, market share, and financial objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining current product knowledge on all new and used agricultural equipment commonly used in area of responsibility.
  • Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and have the ability to appraise and evaluate effectively for proper valuation of trades.
  • Responsible for developing sales plans and forecasts for assigned Production Ag Account Managers.
  • Monitor competitor activity and report to the rest of the Management Team.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all published and unpublished incentive programs on both new and used equipment.
  • Support Integrated Solutions including agronomic decision support, machine logistics support, machine optimization support, and other value-added services, and irrigation initiatives.

COMPETENCY: Position requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of current agricultural issues, strong math skills, outstanding negotiating skills, ability to work through all kinds of personnel issues, and competency in all aspects of computerized tools and reports, willingness to work flexible hours and weekends, and must possess excellent customer relationship skills. Ability to develop and motivate others through coaching, knowledge-sharing and modeling. Analytical ability to understand root cause issues and interpret internal reports.

EXPERIENCE: Preferred 3-5 years of Account Management or direct sales experience in agricultural farm equipment or related field. Willing to mentor inexperienced candidates with the appropriate mindset.

EDUCATION: BS Business or agriculture-related field preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to safely operate equipment, mount and dismount equipment, safely hook-up and secure equipment. Periods of extensive sitting, standing, and squatting are routinely required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
