2137 Spear Power Systems, Inc. is Hiring a Project Engineer Near Grandview, MO

Spear Power Systems' our recent acquisition is headquartered in Grandview, Missouri. At our facilities here, we design and manufacture our lithium-ion battery cells. The Project Engineer is responsible for leading projects in relation with introduction of new product development, new production processes, process improvement, cost reduction programs, quality improvement programs to enable successful launch of products. They will monitor a program from project initiation through delivery, and organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the program on schedule and within budget constraints. - General Responsibilities • Leads an engineering project, from start to finish, or one phase of a large project, so that it is completed on time and within budget • Implements an established project plan; monitors progress and performance against the project plan; identifies, resolves, or escalates operational problems and minimize delays • Leads the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service • Estimates the costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of an engineering project and monitor activities, allocate resources and assign tasks to ensure these targets are met • Leads project meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team • Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones Experience / Qualifications • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers - Lead validation or compliance testing for lithium ion cells, modules and energy storage systems. Partner with Application Engineering to ensure compliance on energy storage proposals Participate in Design Reviews & Requirement Traceability Integrate New Product Introduction requirements into product deployment Collaborate with Systems Engineer on customer & regulatory requirements Lead Certification Validation Test Plans Document Test Articles, Test Configuration, Reference Documents Collect Data, Analyze, Evaluate Trends & Report Findings Lead Battery & Cell Electrical Certification Validation Testing in Engineering Laboratory or Testing Facility Perform Open-Circuit-Voltage (OCV) Perform AC Impedance Perform Open-Circuit-Voltage (OCV) vs. State of Charge (SOC) @ Temperatures Participate in cross-functional team in Design Failure Mode Effects (and Criticality) Analyses (DFMEA), Root Cause Investigations, Functional Safety Hazard Analyses, and similar processes We are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering or similar technical field required 3 – 5 years of experience with lab test equipment preferred (Power Supply, DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.) Experience with R&D or a systems integration environment preferred Experience with Arbin or similar cell testing equipment preferred - SmarterTogether Collaborating at Sensata means working with some of the world’s most talented people in an enriching environment that is constantly pushing towards the next best thing Employees work across functions, countries and cultures gaining new perspectives through mutual respect and open communication As OneSensata, we are working together to make things work together Click here to view Sensata Recruitment Privacy Statement Click here to view our Sensata Recruitment Privacy Statement for China NOTE: If you are a current Sensata employee (or one of our Affiliates), please back out of this application and log into Workday via the Company Intranet to apply directly.
