Number of Openings 1 Time Type Full time Job Description Reporting to the Director Corporate Communications, the Communications Manager will support internal and external engagement and brand management, helping to share the Talen/Cumulus story with key stakeholders across a variety of audiences. Activities will include developing and disseminating internal and external messaging campaigns, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and community/stakeholder relations. Candidate also will serve as a key point of contact for industry groups and community partners and provide communications support to business units and key functions throughout the organization. The Communications Manager will assist the regulatory and external affairs team in wider efforts to support key business units and departments including Operations, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, Investor Relations, and special projects using a client services model. What will you own? External Communications Ensure unified messaging and voice is reflected across various external messaging channels including news releases, website content, social media posts, and presentations Investor communications support: investor website maintenance, earnings and other formulaic release drafting and distribution; contract coordination with press release and investor website vendor Assist in branding efforts across company’s LinkedIn, website and other external channels by assisting with content development, managing and scheduling posts, and monitoring engagement Support recruiting and other external HR initiatives through development of campaigns and messaging to meet desired goals and promote company culture Support stakeholder engagement through development of communications packages and/or messaging documents (e.g., talking points, fact sheets, etc.) that convey company position and/or story. Assist with content review of joint venture projects’ social posts and external messaging (i.e., website, fact sheets, etc.) to ensure they align with our brand, messaging, and values Support Susquehanna Nuclear plant team with updating and distributing annual publications which are part of their emergency plan (e.g., community newsletter, media guide and siren test and outage notifications); review and manage Susquehanna website content Internal Communications Corporate intranet: develop and manage content within company intranet, including developing and sending company-wide communications, engagement reporting and enhancement efforts and assisting business unit/support function content managers with their respective site content. Company-wide communications: gather content, draft, and distribute monthly internal newsletter; collaborate with teams including Operations and Human Resources to coordinate topical internal messaging including holiday greetings, training and benefits topics, safety features, new hires/promotions, policy and procedure updates, etc. Employee communications: support internal components of larger corporate communications campaigns and messaging packages; align messaging with core external messaging and ensure consistency across channels and effectiveness. Community Relations/ESG Administer community donations for Susquehanna nuclear plant and assist in relationship management with key organizations throughout Talen footprint Assist with community relations efforts for Cumulus businesses Coordinate and/or support volunteer initiatives and/or employee giving campaigns Assist ESG team with community engagement reporting and related ESG messaging for website, presentations and ESG report Assist in planning and promotion of plant and business unit events (i.e., anniversaries, tours, ribbon cuttings, etc.) Core Activities Maintain and distribute weekly news clip report Maintain corporate and business unit media lists Perform periodic content review and maintenance activities to keep information accurate and aligned with Talen brand across multiple channels (i.e., websites, social media, data sheets, presentations, etc.) Manage public inquiry mailbox Serve as point of content for key industry and trade groups to which the company belongs What you have: Experience with corporate communications, public relations, branding and/or integrated communications in a fast-paced corporate environment Strong written and verbal communications skills including ability to write for a variety of purposes and audiences, with correct grammar, usage and mechanics Excellent organizational skills with an ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and their respective timelines while accommodating quick-turn, short lead time requests in real time. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Knowledge of AP style Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite, social media applications, WordPress, Unily/other database driven content management systems Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in communications, journalism, public relations or related field A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a communications function within a corporation, government agency, non-profit organization, or public relations agency.
