Job Details: Software Test Engineer Fixed Term -12 months Brisbane Who are we? Job Summary: This role helps deliver the quality and performance of large scale, big data, custom hardware multi-platform software products that includes web, API, and mobile application interfaces. Incumbents in this position are experienced, hands on and self-motivated engineer who can work collaboratively in a continuous integration environment. This role involves working closely with the Non-functional (NFT) Test Lead, functional and non-functional testers, SME’s and other relevant stakeholders that includes leveraging shift-left methods to understand a complex domain and product. The Test Engineer focuses on contributing to the completion of key pieces of work through analysis, test execution, gathering of test evidence, reviewing and adding to Test plans, test cases and reporting. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. What will you be responsible for? Creates, reviews, and completes Test plans, Test cases and Test summary reports. Perform requirements traceability analysis and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the requirements are mapped to appropriate test evidence. Executes test cases, reviews and diagnose reported bugs, and ensures overall system quality prior to a customer release. Works with the engineering teams to derive testing evidence where required for non-testable requirements Reproduces, debugs, and isolates problems and verify fixes where appropriate. Works closely with NFT Test Lead to ensure regular reporting can be completed for the various stake holders. Estimates own testing tasks. What skills and experience will our ideal candidate have? Essential: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in either a Software Development Engineer or (SDET) Software Development Engineer in Test role. Experience with Test processes, test case design strategies, writing test cases, executing test cases. Previous experience with requirements, defect, functional, and non-functional performance management systems. Experience with tools & applications such as JIRA, Confluence, TestRail Experience in creating, reviewing and editing Test Plans and Test Summary Reports. Experience in performing requirements traceability. Tertiary qualifications in relevant engineering/IT discipline or equivalent experience Desirable: Experience with XML, Databases and SQL. Experience with requirements, defect, functional, and performance management system. Experience in working for Government agencies. Experience within the transportation sector, Automated Fare Collection Systems, or financial sector. Experience with ticketing systems and/or public transportation operation. What’s in it for you?
