Job Details: Responsible for preparation of the financial statements and related supporting schedules of Cubic entities in the APAC region. Maintains the accuracy of the entity’s related books of record such as the general ledger, sales journal, fixed asset ledger, cash receipts and disbursements, accounts payable distribution, and travel ledger. Responsible for occasional accounting projects and analyses assigned by financial management. This position typically works under general supervision and direction Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for month end close process for multiple entities including the preparation of journals, perform indirect cost centres review and explain overhead rate variances; post overhead allocation and run assessment cycles Assisting with CO – FI (Project ledger to General ledger) reconciliation including review of indirect pools, intermediary pools and assessment cycles. Preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with month end timetable and resolve unreconciling items. Prepare payroll cost accounting in general ledger system (FI) and assist with payroll obligations. Prepare & submit state workers compensation wages declarations Coordinate intercompany transaction processing, perform intercompany reconciliation, balance confirmation and settlement including review of accuracy of intercompany charges Maintenance of capital projects and control of accounting fixed asset register and tax asset register including additions, disposals and depreciation Prepare and present weekly cash flow forecasting for APAC entities and recommend cash transfers / funding as required. Perform foreign currency revaluation, calculate FX gain/ loss and prepare all Treasury accounting entries including hedge accounting Banking system administration including updating for all authorised signatories Perform Corporate Credit Card reconciliation and follow up on outstanding balances with credit card holders Participation in the preparation and / or review of corporate tax return filings including income tax and Fringe Benefits Tax returns Preparation, submission and reconciliation of monthly BAS returns Prepare various APAC entities statutory annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS accounting standards Preparation of other government financial reporting obligations, including Australian Bureau of Statistic surveys, Stats NZ surveys and Singapore Statistics surveys. Contribute to driving continuous improvement of month-end and reporting processes and support a range of automation and process improvement initiatives. Supporting operational staff to improve their knowledge of finance and financial control Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and support Internal Audit & External Audit requests. Ad hoc projects whereby relevant issues are identified and business partner with the relevant stakeholders involved Other financial administration tasks General Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures Other duties as requested Minimum Job Requirements: Qualifications Essential: Bachelor degree or equivalent in Accounting Qualified Accountant (CPA/CA) Skills/Experience/Knowledge Essential Minimum of 2 years’ post qualified CPA/CA work experience in a financial accounting role. Strong technical insights with accounting principles, external reporting and internal control Strong knowledge and application of IFRS accounting standards and principles Knowledge of APAC GST and Fringe Benefits Tax compliance Proficient in large ERP accounting systems, preferably SAP Computer literate skills including advanced Excel skills Preferred Sound knowledge and application of US GAAP accounting standards and principles Experience with intercompany transactions, including reconciliation and settlement Knowledge of APAC regional income tax Payroll cost accounting experience Personal Qualities Excellent interpersonal skills, with a high level of verbal and written communication skills Ability to form and maintain productive relationships at all levels of the business Ability to work unsupervised and autonomously Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Excellent accuracy and high attention to details at all times Continuous improvement mind set with an ability to implement change as required Pro-active, self-motivated and ability to use initiative Able to organise and prioritise Condition of Employment: Successful outcome of a National Police Check The description provided above is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties, responsibilities and requirements.
