Job Description


Join the Clean Energy Revolution

Become a Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for the overall project management of SCE’s Rule 20A & 20B Assessment District underground projects within the Edison territory. You will have the opportunity to work directly with governmental agencies throughout the SCE service territory in assessing and providing cost estimates for areas that are targeted for under grounding of SCE power lines. This is a remote position, however travel throughout the SCE service territory as needed will be required.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Project Management oversight and function direction for the project team and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle including scope and project initiation, planning and design, permit and easement acquisition, civil and electrical construction, and project close-out activities.
  • Evaluate potential projects identified by governmental agencies for compliance to Rule 20 tariff and qualification under Rule 20A including a Rough Order of Magnitude cost estimate.
  • Utilizing project controls in exercising budget and schedule management, forecasting, and performance monitoring such as variance analysis; maintaining schedules and project plans; identifying trends, forecasting costs-at-completion, and assess performance against budget targets.
  • Provide project status updates at various T&D forums while building relationships with district and regional personnel to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Participate in process improvement working sessions and assist in developing implementation plans.
  • Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols, safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications


The essentials

  • Seven years of project management experience.

The preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in any of the following areas: engineering, construction, utilities, and/or substations.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Experience in electrical distribution design, planning, or construction.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience making recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is remote. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • Must be able to travel up to 30% in the field within our entire service territory.

  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
