Job Description Starting at $14/Hr Job Title: Dishwasher, Full Time FLSA Status: Non Exempt Department: Food and Beverage Position Summary: Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and properly storing all dishes, flatware, utensils, and kitchenware Position Responsibilities Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand. Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas. Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Can operate dish machines to company and manufacturer specifications. Uses proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine. Restocks all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans. Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes the dish machine at the end of a shift. Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving. Receive, load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies. Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks. Clean garbage cans with water or steam. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas. Sweep and scrub floors Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager at any time. Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes Other duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Ability High School Diploma / GED preferred. Demonstrated ability to work at a fast pace while standing for long periods of time. Complete basic food handling training and obtain any local or state mandated certification. Good verbal communication skills. Ability to follow instructions on safe use of all chemicals/cleaning materials. A superior work ethic Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues Ability to work with minimal supervision Preferred Skills Previous experience at a hotel or restaurant Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to scan and handle all merchandise Able to think quickly on the spot to resolve guest questions Ability to read labels and other product information Ability to read instructions, recipes, reports and information on computer screens, and to key information on computer and RF Unit keyboards Able to accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions Ability to lift 40 pounds Ability to place and arrange items on all shelves and racks on the sales floor Ability to move merchandise with appropriate equipment (e.g., tubs, carts, flats, etc.) to and from stockroom Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs. Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
