Expedia's core services engineering department is recruiting for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for critical initiatives. As a TPM you will be responsible for projects end to end execution. You will thoughtfully collaborate with business leaders, technology leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business and product strategies, and then work with engineering teams to fulfill those needs through well-crafted program plans. As part of program management, you will also assess risk, develop risk mitigation plans, anticipate, and resolve bottlenecks, lead issue escalation, and make tradeoffs balancing the business needs versus technical concerns. A successful candidate will have an established track record in delivering multiple projects on a technical platform, preferably in e-commerce and tax applications, have broad and deep technical knowledge, problem solving skills, excellent schedule/delivery skills, great communication skills, customer focus, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced collaborative environment. What you'll do: Working with multiple business teams to push the envelope and deliver key features that travel customers love Responsible for program management of a set of projects across the full software development life cycle; execution, status reporting and coordination against project plans and delivery commitments Planning meetings through requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, and acceptance testing Provide detailed stories and prioritization guidance to multiple engineering teams operating in an Agile/Scrum environment Work closely with platform engineers and other teams to ensure business needs are met without compromising long term platform health and evolution Collaborate on roadmap development for the engineering teams and help shape the overall vision for the digital commerce platform Build and maintain relationships with our key technology providers, as well as other technical and business teams Who you are: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline 5 years of relevant software engineering experience 5 years of experience leading software development projects with aggressive schedules A strong track record of on-time project delivery for large, cross-functional projects, preferably in E-commerce domain Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including executives and non-technical leaders Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions Capability to create a strong business and technical vision and drive a team towards that vision Identify, evaluate, track and mitigate issues and risks. Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities Expertise delivering projects with agile methodologies The total cash range for this position in Austin is $128,500 to $180,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $205,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
