Job Description: Organizational Overview SS&C ALPS is a leading Registered Fund Services provider in the financial services industry. Role Overview ALPS Alternative Investment Services is seeking Fund Accounting Supervisor join our growing alternatives fund accounting practice. This practice group provides fund administration services, such as fund start-up and accounting and reporting services, to private equity fund clients. This person will lead and review work of a Fund Accounting team. Responsibilities · Mentor/lead a team of fund accountants. · Coordinate and review the end-to-end process of fund accounting, including booking fund transactions, position and cash reconciliations, month end valuations, corporate action processing, and production of periodic financial and investor statements. · Financial statement preparation and review which includes: the statement of assets and liabilities, schedule of net asset value per share, statement of operations, statement of changes in shareholders’ equity, and the statement of cash flows. · Ensure security types are accounted for correctly, including private investments, equities, fixed income, options, futures, fund of funds and many other derivative investments. · Assist team with administrative and operational duties. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience. · Must have decent Mutual Fund/ETF, Hedge Fund or Private Equity experience either in-house within the fund, external as an administrator, or in an audit capacity, with a strong accounting background · Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel. · Previous experience in leadership role a plus. · Working knowledge of Bloomberg, and Advent Geneva or Advent Partner, a plus · Strong organizational and analytical skill, with the ability to effectively summarize findings, both verbally and in writing. · A passion for delivering excellent client service.
