Job Details RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: The product engineer will support the Manager of Screw Compressor Engineering by providing in house technical support and guidance for projects. Responsibilities for the position includes assisting senior engineers with the design, analysis, testing, and reporting for rotary screw compressors and their sub-assemblies. The successful candidate will also provide technical support to purchasing and manufacturing, legacy product support, and new product implementation. This position requires the candidate to be on site to be able to provide the necessary support. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Assist senior engineers with product development/design. Provide clear technical direction to designers and review complex 3D models. Support product improvement and cost reduction activities Assists in the generation of and create technical documentation for use within the company. Work with senior engineers to develop test requests and plans, and assist with the preparation execution test programs to verify performance and reliability of compressors. Analyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data. Assists test lab and senior engineers to validate test results and generate formal test reports. Assists in return compressor evaluation, parts disposition, and reporting. Provides technical support to sales, supply chain, manufacturing, and service groups. Contributes to the on-time completion of programs and reports on the status of assigned projects and tasks on a regular basis. Assists customer service by inspecting compressors returned for service, and reporting findings to senior management and the customer. Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards. REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidate must have a good understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles, and processes related to mechanical and electrical aspects of compressors. He or she must demonstrate proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product. Minimum of a BS in Engineering related science. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in related field. Good understanding of mechanical engineering subject matter. Working knowledge of the manufacturing process. Basic understanding of fundamental business knowledge. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong Personal Computing ability with capabilities in MS Office Suite, etc. OTHER: Qualified candidate will be required to work on site at the Waynesboro facility to support manufacturing and the test lab on a consistent basis.
