Job Description Position Title: Warehouse manager Job Description Summary/Objectives The Warehouse manager will be responsible for managing both union and salary direct reports as well as their performance reviews and discipline actions. Must also manage the vendor contract which provides satellite warehousing and guide vendor employees to complete daily tasks. This position is part of the maintenance department, reporting to the site Reliability Manager This person also requisitions parts for the Gurnee, IL plant and provides any necessary remote assistance with their functions. Controlling inventory of all maintenance and process related items moving in and out of the facility, site storeroom, and satellite warehouses. This will include all maintenance materials and spare parts, process related consumables, chemical deliveries, and some raw material deliveries. Control material receipt, storage, and issuing policies Complete routine physical inventories of both on-site and satellite warehouses and monitor cycle counting for warehouse reporting Cross-functional communication between Maintenance, Production, Quality, HSE, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, Vendors, and Contractors. Develop, document, and maintain procedures and processes for the Storeroom. Identify and Prioritize activities of storeroom employees. Ensure daily entry in SAP computer system of stock disbursements and good receipts. Manage outgoing Repairs of all maintenance stock items and equipment. Conduct daily retrieval & disbursements of goods issue tickets from main and satellite storerooms. Manage MRP (Material Requirements Program) to ensure restocking of bins with MRO material based on documented reorder points and reservations in SAP Establish- analyze and adjust inventory levels (considering customer input and inventory optimization theory). Maintain tracking mechanisms charts and reports to manage inventory level. Facilitate Monthly reporting on performance against KPI measures. Some of which include: Open Repair Orders (Not Received) Cycle Count Accuracy Cycle Count Compliance Material movements Ultra-Slow & Obsolete materials (36 Month No Usage) Satellite warehouse deliveries and returns Inventory value Train and periodically assist storeroom employees in identifying, locating, and issuing parts and supplies to maintenance employees and contractors. Train and assist Storeroom employees in organizing Storeroom according to 5S policy. Provide technical training and coordinate technical training for storeroom employees Lead storeroom employees in maintaining positive rapport with customers, vendors, and contractors. Provide vacation and absence coverage for stockroom employees. Comply with all Quality policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices. Ensure all storeroom employees perform all work in a safe and efficient manner. Utilize the SAP system to document maintenance activities. Strong process management skills. Ability and inclination to proactively analyze and improve every process. Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment, components, and parts. Ability to identify critical spares, make stock/non-stock decisions and adjust SAP reorder points based on technical knowledge of equipment, where-used research, equipment criticality, lead time, and material cost. Computer keyboarding skills- typing skills and literacy in Microsoft Office business application software. Knowledge of and adeptness in using SAP for inventory management and part research. Always follow all Safety and Security Procedures. Work with operations, maintenance, and purchasing teams to ensure the right parts are ordered. Generate purchase orders (PO’s) within SAP for inventory purchases. Verify quoted prices when generating a PO for any item including reorders. Expediting orders when needed. Manage status of purchasing needs and communicate delays or issues to supervision as required. Ensure timely delivery of items, keeping the affected Maintenance Team members informed of delivery issues. Maintain open lines of communication by establishing and building relationships with other employees, including middle and upper management. Run reports on a timely basis to present warehouse metrics and any other purchasing reports required. Obtain quotes on items not pre-sourced. Source competitive price quotes for items that are not covered under contractual agreements. Review PO acknowledgement documenting any price changes in procurement system and update new prices on PO with date and any other pertinent information. Review invoices for price and/or quantity discrepancies and follow guidelines to resolve discrepancies- with a focus on reducing discrepancies. Work with Manager to streamline processes and implement quality improvements- documenting any changes in SAP/SRM. Adhere to min/max levels as required to maintain proper balance. Experience and Skills BA/BS degree in Supply Chain or Business Management or related degree preferred 3-5 years MRO Storeroom experience 3-5 years industrial plant experience, preferred experience in wet corn milling with a strong knowledge of the common equipment used in corn milling and refining. Demonstrated use of critical reasoning skills as they apply to problem solving and decision-making. 5 years of experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), or 3 years’ experience with SAP Maintenance. 5 years of experience and demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively in peer relationships 3-5 years of experience with managing direct reports preferred Working understanding of maintenance best practices. Developed understanding of RCM principles and practices. Experienced understanding of how mechanical equipment and systems functions. Solid understanding of fact-based problem solving/decision making techniques applied within teams. Fundamental knowledge of safe work practices. Interpersonal skills and the ability to bring a diverse group of individuals (technical, lay, contractor and managerial personnel) together to commit to a common goal. Make data-based decisions over emotional or experience-based. Knows what information is needed to make the right decision. Demonstrated ability to develop strong precision-based work skills. Strong written communication skills to present findings. Computer office skills, including Microsoft Office Suite application. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full-time position, non-union, salary Reside close to Keokuk, IA manufacturing facility Normal hours: Monday through Friday, 7AM to 4PM, on-site at the Keokuk plant May also work other hours to address department needs or manage urgent issues, as needed Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
