You enjoy sharing your knowledge and know-how with others. Position Snapshot US Ecology is looking for an Enterprise Data Architect/Engineer. The role includes responsibilities for designing, developing, and maintaining the corporate EDW and analytics architecture to meet business demands; this includes new and legacy data analysis and reporting. A successful candidate will have experience working with data architects, operational software developers, and business partners to fashion out the technical vision for solutions that empower successful data driven decisions throughout the corporation. Candidate is expected to have working knowledge and experience at gathering and translating business requirements into industry standard data solutions. Day in the Life After booting up your computer you can expect to: Work with business partners including cross-functional IT teams to create data solutions that solve identified business problems. Design, maintain, and use Information Marts to provide dashboards for business intelligence that empowers a culture of data driven decisions. Identify and evaluate current data management technologies Create a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data will flow through the organization Develop data models for database structures Design, document, construct and deploy database architectures and applications Integrate technical functionality (scalability, security, performance, data recovery, reliability, etc.) including measures to ensure data accuracy & accessibility Monitor, refine, and report on the performance of data management systems Meld new systems with existing warehouse structures Maintain a corporate repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures Provide architectural direction and support to meet the organization’s business requirements by transforming operational data for use in the EDW. Involved in designing, developing, and supporting new and current ETL processes employing industry standards and best practices to enhance loading of data to the EDW Create and maintain technical and support documentation of corporate databases, ETL processes, and EDW processes. Consolidate and optimize the company’s data infrastructure, both cloud and on-premises to ensure optimal use of infrastructure investments. Lead or Co-Lead large data integration projects and use your effective technology know-how to solve complex data centric problems. Perform various complex assignments with little to no supervision Carry out training for peers and business partners appropriate to the disciple. Be active advocate for creation and use of master data within IT and Business Units What you need to apply Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar IT-related discipline; or combination of education and experience. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience performing data warehouse architecture development Experience using ETL tools (Wherescape, Informatica, SSIS) Experience with Data Vault 2.0 Passion for data and information that led to increased business value Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency in reading and writing database queries Ability to work with both technical and business personnel working together to make sound data driven decisions.
